Just an update!

Just reminding everyone that I will be closed on Sunday the 25th.  This gives a few more days to finish entries for the named character painting competition!  Would love to see a few more entries for this contest.

Also don't forget that on Friday the 30th is the judging for the CHAPTER CHALLENGE!  This is gonna be exciting guys.  Don't miss out.

In upcoming event news - the May Calender will be out on Wednesday, and don't think that with planets exploding and tiles dying the Planetary Empires campaign is done with.  We need a clear cut victor!  Join us on Wednesday as always for some more craziness as the rot of Nurgle brings down the house!

Changes of Scheduling

Hey guys,

Just letting you know that I am gonna be keeping the store closed on the 25th due to the time of my flight to the Sales Conference in Las Vegas.  This means that the Named Character Painting Contest judging will be moved to ... Wednesday the 28th!  I know, I know... the judging is always on the last Sunday, but this is a rare circumstance.

Also, don't forget that on the 30th the Chapter Challenge is due!  Represent!

The End of an Era

Our store has gone through its fair share of staff. It started out with Jeremy and John, and then after John's leaving we saw Hobby Specialists suck as Derek, Greg, Cory, and Dianne come and go. We've also seen managers leave our community. Jeremy being the first, and Justin being the next.

But now, Evan has also gone his own way. Please wish him the best, and know that he will always be a welcome member of our community.

As I am sure everyone knows, the company has gone through a major restructuring. While the details of that will not be gone into here, the outcome will be.

Wilhelm (I) will be taking over starting on Wednesday the 7th as the store's Hobby Center Operator. The new changes to the company mean that the store will be one man, running on a 35 hour open schedule. The scheduling changes have been in effect since the beginning of the year, but the one-man show will be a change.

Evan has given me his blessing and promises to be an open ear for any help I may need or questions I may have while the transition settles into place. He has been a big part of Marysville since last October, and I realize the change won't be one of sunshine and rainbows. He is our friend, companion, and someone we all trust - and this should continue.

Now, some may ask, "What does this mean to me as a Hobbyist?"

Simply put - that's up to you. Our events will continue, our ongoing campaigns will continue. Our community will continue to grow and evolve. I have an open ear to all ideas to help your store become nothing but better. I know there is a lot of worry, and believe me I understand. I have been asked if the Planetary Empires campaign will continue (which is a strong yes), if plans for other major events will falter (a strong no), and if the Hobby Center everyone knows and loves will change.

The answer to the last question is yes. It has to change. Change is always difficult, but with a one man store things simply can't be the same as with two or three. Hobby Champions shall rise to the challenge to help events be better than ever before. I will give them everything they need to help me help the community as best as possible. These Hobby Champions will be people that surely have already earned your trust and will do their best to help you and I. They are not only helping me - they will be helping you as well.

Ultimately, I just want you to know that the Marysville Hobby Center will come out of this on top. We have, together, built a great place to come together for The Hobby. That ain't no simple feat - and together it will do nothing but become even better.
